An Internation Driving Permit or a Japanese Drivers License is valid for use in India. But we do not
recommend you drive unless you have been here for at least three months. Traffic conditions are completely
different from what you are used to in Japan!
People in India are very curious and respectful of Japan and Japanese. But many may not know about
specific Japanese traditions and customs. Please do not be offended if people ask you strange questions or personal
questions (you need not give a precise response, of course!). As elsewhere in the world, smiling politely and saying
Thank You will bring you goodwill. At the same time, as elsewhere in the world, please exercise caution. Though
India and Bangalore is generally safe, crime does occur.
Arriving in India for the first time can be a stressful experience. Indian Airports are quite chaotic. Immigration
and Baggage clearance are confusing and take time. Please be very careful while taking the unsolicited help of people
at airports. Always search for a Prepaid Taxi stall if you need a taxi. |
